Mise en scène is the arrangement of scenery and stage properties in a play or “Setting the Stage.” Some factors that play into mise en scène is the set, the set can be the background in which your acting to give you an idea of where and what it’s happening. Next, you have the props which make up the set in you’re in and can also play into your imagination in the story to help you feel more connected with the storyline. Then we have the actors, the actors really help the story come to life by embodying the character’s personality and physical features to make you feel like you’re really in the story. Another key factor in mise en scène is lighting, lighting can really set the mood of the scene whether it be romantic, dramatic, etc. Finally, the most important factor is how all of these are synced up together so that way they can create the perfect piece and bring your story to life.
